BEAUTY FROM ABROAD: DISCOVER THE BEST MASSAGES IN BANGKOK, THAILAND
CAMILA NEVES, MORNING BEAUTY’S CONTRIBUTOR IN BRAZIL, RECENTLY VISITED THAILAND. HERE SHE LISTS HER THREE FAVOURITE BEAUTY SPOTS IN BANGKOK.
I’ve been travelling a lot — both by choice and work. And none of the countries I visited the last six months are as into beauty treatments as Thailand. Thai people are professional in massage — especially in the cheap and effective ones. You’ll find them literally in every corner and trust me: they’re ALL good. It’s in their blood. Some of the spots are a bit more presentable than others thought. Here are my three favorites in Bangkok.
The perks of being in Thailand? Thai massage. Better yet, reasonably priced Thai massage. I went to Health Land at least three times to treat all my muscles with firm hands – sometimes feet! – of the therapist, ease all the pain of running in heels and simply get ready for life again. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Address: 120 North Sathorn Rd. Silom, Bangrak
A tiny, cozy and private massage spot with great masseurs. It was launched less than a year ago and most of the people who know its existence are local. I’d go for traditional oil massage with citrus essence.
Address: 10330, 30 Soi Ruam Ruedi, Lumphini, Pathum Wan
If you’re looking for a bit of luxurious experience, Erb Spa is definetely a must go. It uses only all-natural ingredients — most of them found in Thailand — and offers all kinds of therapies. One of the menu’s highlights is an one-hour facial made with gold and pearl powder. It’s delightful; not cheap though: it costs around 4.000 Bahts (over 77). Also, make sure you have time to take a look at Erb’s store as its exclusive perfume section is the best in Thailand.
